Remove the oil cap and hold onto it for a few minutes. There will be two 10mm screws that hold down the left engine cover. Youâll need to remove this cover and set it to the side before replacing the oil cap. Now youâre ready to remove the coils on top of the spark plugs.

Mine was covered by BMW extended warranty at no cost at all, job was even done on my drive by the BMW Services Technician. I was surprised that they did not ask for some contribution as the spark plugs were due to be changed on service.
